Dr.S.Sudheer Khan - Professor

 
 

Dr. S. Sudheer Khan displayed immense contribution in the field of nanobiotechnology. He was driven towards the fascinating properties and potential applications of nanomaterials in environmental and health related sector. Over the past 3 years, Dr. S. Sudheer Khan has become an internationally recognized expert in nanotechnology within industry and academia. He has made substantial contributions through 113 publications in international peer reviewed journals (87 in last 3 years) (Indexed in SCI, Web of Science and Scopus) in the area of sensor, photocatalysis and toxicity of nanomaterials. He received SERB International Research Experience Fellowship from DST-SERB at 2022 and young Scientist award from DST-SERB at 2012. He completed a DST-SERB project on the toxicological evaluation of nanomaterials. He is strong at characterization techniques of materials including TEM, XRD, XPS, FTIR, Raman, UV-vis DRS, EIS, BET, EPR, TGA and Zeta-sizer. He is expertise in plasmonic materials synthesis and development of various colorimetric detection systems for heavy metals, inorganic pollutants and bio-analysts. He showed tireless research efforts in synthesis of potential heterojunction and designing at nanoscale that is suitable for visible light activation. He has demonstrated both a depth and breadth of achievement for developing photocatalytic nanomaterial for degradation of pharmaceutical pollutant, dyes, beta blockers and pesticides and photo-removal of Chromium (VI). He is also well verse in toxicological evaluation of nanomaterials in various systems. The h-index and i-10 are 26 and 62 respectively as noted from Google scholar his work has been widely cited for about 2882 times. Dr. S. Sudheer Khan has seamlessly and proactively built several effective photocatalytic materials that are affordable, eco-friendlier, and recyclable and that are active under wide range of solar-spectrum. The developed pilot scale reactor could completely degrade and mineralize dye and pharmaceutical wastes to CO2 and H2O. Currently, he is trying for the implementation of a photocatalytic reactor for the removal of toxic pollutants from industrial effluents, efficient energy conversion materials, conversion of CO2 too useful compounds and H2 energy production. He is also working for the development of an efficient nanocarrier for targeted drug delivery and remote controlled cancer therapy. Dr. S. Sudheer Khan is the most enthusiastic researcher showed outstanding contributions in the field of nanotechnology for environmental remediation and Healthcare.
